University of Minnesota | School of Music: Wind Ensemble Presents “Connections to the Past”
The University Singers join the University Wind Ensemble to premiere Brahms’ haunting choral lament Nänie in a new version for chamber winds, strings and chorus arranged and conducted by J. Nick Smith. Program to also include Stephen Montague’s Intrada 1631, Arnold Schoenberg’s Theme and Variations, Op. 43a, and Michael Martin’s Lontano. Emily Threinen and J. Nick Smith, conductors. This event will be live streamed.
This event is free and open to the public. Tickets are not necessary, seating is general admission and available on a first-come, first-seated basis. Convenient parking is available at the University’s 19th Avenue and 21st Avenue parking ramps; you must pay a fee to park in these ramps.
