The Current’s annual FREE Rock the Cradle event for kids and their grownups to explore music, art and culture returns Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) and Children’s Theatre Company (CTC) from 10am – 3pm.   

Rock the Cradle is great for kids of all ages but best suited for the age group of 2 to 10.  

Event Schedule: 
  • Outdoor Stage: 

    • 11:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. – The Jolly Pops 

    • Noon-12:30 p.m. – Dr. Mambo’s Combo 

    • 1:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. – Afoutayi Dance, Music, and Arts 

    • 2:00 p.m.-2:50 p.m. – Nur-D 

  • Indoor Stage: 

    • 10:15 a.m.-10:45 a.m. – Celtic Junction Irish Dance 

    • 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. – Celtic Junction Irish Dance 

    • 12:30 p.m.-1 p.m. – Smash Boom Best: Instrument Debate

    • 2:00 p.m. – Mia Family Day – Young Dance 

  • Kids’ Disco: 

    • 10:00 a.m. – CTC: Music in Motion

    • 10:30 a.m. – The Current’s Kendall Stewart 

    • Noon – YMCA Movement Break: Yoga

    • 12:30 p.m. – CTC: Music in Motion

    • 1:00 p.m. – YMCA Movement Break: Bootcamp 

    • 1:30 p.m.-3 p.m. – The Current’s Kendall Stewart 

  • Mia Art Studios:

    • All Day – Art Making

  • Additional Programming:

    • Mia will present Mia Family Day arts and crafts activities

    • Our sponsors will be out in the courtyard with fun, interactive activities
