MPR News, and Braver Angels are hosting the next installment of their Talking Sense event series in Duluth on Thursday, November 14th from 6-8 PM at Somers Lounge at the College of St Scholastica.
In this workshop, we will talk about how we can manage our emotions and relate to others in victory, defeat, or ongoing uncertainty about the election. Many of us will be tempted by triumphalism if our side wins and by spite and revenge if our side loses. Either way, we all lose, and our ability to govern ourselves in a democratic republic will further erode. But we do have a choice about how to show up after the election. We can be bridge-builders or bridge-burners. Come to a presentation and conversation about how to repair and move forward together after this polarizing election.
Talking Sense is an MPR News election year initiative aimed at helping Minnesotans have hard political conversations, better. To launch Talking Sense, MPR has teamed up with Braver Angels, which is a national non-profit with roots in Minnesota that helps communities talk across their differences.
