Community Members Invited to Bring the Sing in Duluth on March 25!
Bring the Sing is a regional event YourClassical MPR hosts throughout the state of Minnesota.
After three years’ hiatus, YourClassical MPR invites Duluthians and others in the Northland to come together in song for Bring the Sing Duluth. This free event is open to all vocal abilities and will take place Saturday, March 25 at the College of St. Scholastica.
St. Scholastica Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences Bret Amundson will return to conduct this year’s Bring the Sing. This year, Bret will be joined by Duluth-based singer-songwriter Sara Thomsen, and the College of St. Scholastica’s Justice Choir. The day’s music will include four choral pieces written by Minnesota composers.
“This is a big musical highlight for our Duluth-Superior communities and for Northern Minnesota,” said Amundson. “People love the opportunity to come together for a day of amazing music with others who also love to sing. I’m honored to be sharing the stage with Sara Thomsen, a Minnesota treasure whose music captures the soul of this part of the world and its people.”
YourClassical MPR Bring the Sing events take place across the state and bring community members together through communal choral singing. Sheet music will be provided free at the event, as well as snacks for all participants. Whatever your singing ability, come sing your heart out at this free, fun community event!
