Join MacPhail Center for Music for a special performance and conversation with saxophonist Salvador Flores, a former Performance Today Young Artist in Residence and member of the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own.”
Accompanied by collaborative pianist Andrew Kosinski, Salvador will present a recital featuring works from his newly released album while sharing insights from his musical journey since being named a Performance Today Young Artist in Residence in 2022. Following the performance, audience members will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A and learn more about life as a professional musician.
Currently based in the Washington, D.C. area, Salvador performs with a wide range of ensembles—from local funk bands to the National Symphony Orchestra and Washington National Opera—and is recognized for his versatility as a performer, educator, and advocate for new music.
Presented in partnership with YourClassical MPR and American Public Media’s Performance Today®, this special residency connects MacPhail students and the community with one of today’s emerging classical artists through performance, conversation, and mentorship.
